Its scarey but we have finaly taken the plunge and bought a CamperVan..

When my mum passed away she left each of us a bit of money and I did not just want to feed it in to the mortgage or save it for a rainy day. We wanted something that we would get use out of and would remind us of her. As you will see from previous posts we had a fantastic time in an RV driving around Yosemite and we thought we could emulate that in the UK.

So, after scouring the internet & autotrader for what felt like years and years (6 months in reality) and swinging between a CamerVan and a MotorHome we saw exactly what we wanted at SMC MotorHomes in Newark. As this was during lockdown we could not do and view but I still did a driveby (and climed over a small fence) to a have a quick butchers.

What a mistake that was (not really), as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one I wanted and to make it even better it had my mums initials in the number plate. And in honour of mum we have called it Dot (short for Dorothy)

I contacted ‘Steve’ at SMC Motorhomes and bought it via Click n Collect – Great customer services from Steve & SMC. A few weeks later and we collected it, on the way back Alex and I had a McDonalds on the roadside with the table set and doors open.

Once home I joined the Camping & Caravan Club and the Camping and Motorhome Club and set about planning our trips.

So far we have the following trips planned

• Whitby & Seahouses
• Battle & Hastings
