{"id":97,"date":"2021-04-23T12:24:23","date_gmt":"2021-04-23T11:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theoldman.uk\/?p=97"},"modified":"2021-04-23T12:24:23","modified_gmt":"2021-04-23T11:24:23","slug":"we-have-bought-a-campervan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theoldman.uk\/?p=97","title":{"rendered":"We have bought a CamperVan !!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theoldman.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/scared-1024x449.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-98\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Its scarey but we have finaly taken the plunge and bought a CamperVan..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When my mum passed away she left each of us a bit of money and I did not just want to feed it in to the mortgage or save it for a rainy day.  We wanted something that we would get use out of and would remind us of her.  As you will see from previous posts we had a fantastic time in an RV driving around Yosemite and we thought we could emulate that in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, after scouring the internet &amp; autotrader for what felt like years and years (6 months in reality) and swinging between a CamerVan and a MotorHome we saw exactly what we wanted at SMC MotorHomes in Newark.  As this was during lockdown we could not do and view but I still did a driveby (and climed over a small fence) to a have a quick butchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What a mistake that was (not really), as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one I wanted and to make it even better it had my mums initials in the number plate.  And in honour of mum we have called it Dot (short for Dorothy)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I contacted &#8216;Steve&#8217; at SMC Motorhomes and bought it via Click n Collect &#8211; Great customer services from Steve &amp; SMC.  A few weeks later and we collected it,  on the way back Alex and I had a McDonalds on the roadside with the table set and doors open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once home I joined the Camping &amp; Caravan Club and the Camping and Motorhome Club and set about planning our trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far we have the following trips planned <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Herefordshire &#8211; Tewkesbury<\/li><li>Whitby &amp; Seahouses<\/li><li>Battle &amp; Hastings<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you see us out in Dot say Hi&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theoldman.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/IMG_0667-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-99\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Its scarey but we have finaly taken the plunge and bought a CamperVan..
